Dr. Jonas Jansson is head of the department Traffic and Road User at The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI). The Department focus on traffic safety, vehicle technology and human factors, as well as sustainable mobility and active modes of transportation. Dr. Jansson’s background is in driver support systems and vehicle dynamics. He was previously with Volvo Car Corporation between 1999 and 2007, where he worked as function owner for Volvos automatic emergency braking function. His thesis, in the area of automatic control, focus on pre-crash braking systems. Current areas of interest are the integration of road safety with sustainability mobility, remote operation of cooperative connected automated vehicles, electromobility and PTW safety.
